Who Is Eligible?

If you're a City and County of San Francisco Department of Public Health staff member, you can sign up for Loansome Doc (LD) service through our library.  LD allows you to order the full text of articles you find in your PubMed searching.  First, though, you have to register with our library so we know who you are.    Please look at the tutorial in the next column to help you with the registration process.

How to Order Articles

The Loansome Doc system only works for ordering articles you find in PubMed.  If you're using a DPH-networked computer, it's best to use the version of PubMed on the library's website because it contains links to the full text journal content we've purchased for your use.  If you're at home or traveling, you can use the version of PubMed that's on the open web.  If you use that version, be aware that you won't be getting our licensed journal content, and you'll have to use LoansomeDoc to order the articles you want unless, you see the "free full text" icon under the article.
